LifestyleKrista BrummComment

I have been dreaming of going to New York Fashion Week since I can remember. I’ve never been to New York either, so when I was considering going to NYFW there was so many exciting things to look forward to. As a Minnesota native, I always have felt restricted from fashion statements I always wanted to try or things I wanted to wear, but being able to go to one of the most trendy and fashion forward cities I was so excited! I honestly never thought I would ever be able to make it here, so this weekend was a complete dream come true.

Here are some photos from the weekend and some recommendations at the bottom, enjoy!

Holiday Gift Guide

LifestyleKrista Brumm3 Comments

Hey guys! I know this is coming at you a little late, but I want to make sure you are able to find the perfect gifts you’ll need for Christmas this year (even if it’s last minute)! I have two lists- a “For Her” list of things that would be perfect for girlfriends, friends, moms, sister-in-laws, then I have a “For Him”, which was highly requested for those lucky boyfriends or even dads and brothers. Pour yourself some coffee and turn on your Christmas music- let’s get started!

FOR HER list:

  1. Lounge Set- Cole actually got this for me, and I may have already opened it (then wrapped it back up), but it’s amazing, and who does'n’t love being cozy and looking extra AF?

  2. Personalized Map- This is such a personal and thoughtful gift to give for someone who went on a special trip, or just their home city/state!

  3. Robe- This is great for getting ready or for out of the shower- transition to bed. I think this would be a great gift for a mother/mother-in-law along with a spa gift card!

  4. Blanket- I LOVE being cozy and warm… like all the time… so this is a perfect gift for the cuddle-y girl!

  5. Gucci Belt- Literally these belts have taken over Instagram. This is a perfect for the trendy gal in your life!

    Stocking Stuffers:

  6. Eye Mask- Have you ever slept with one of these on? It’s a GAME CHANGER!!!

  7. Perfume-If you know her favorite scent or perfume this is a great gift to restock her collection, but if you don’t know I wouldn’t “surprise” her with a fragrance.

  8. Candle- Such an easy and universal gift! Anthropologie candles are 30% off right now… what?!

  9. Glossier Products- Ok… these are amazing. I actually just ordered some thing, so I haven’t used them but I’ve heard nothing but the best things about them.

  10. Eye Roller- This is also a great self-care, beauty product that she will love (and use everyday)!

Here are a list of things FOR HIM

  1. Daniel Wellington Watch- I actually got Cole this watch for our anniversary, and he loves it! He wears it all the time. I think this is the universal gift for all guys. DW is also an amazing company- you can actually use my discount for 15% off your purchase! Code: krista15

  2. Duke Cannon Grooming- First of all, this is an amazing brand that donates 10% of its sales to veterans. This is perfect for the guy in your life who likes to groom, but wants to use manly products that are high quality. They have the best branding that he will love Code: krista15

  3. Sports Jersey- Last year I randomly got Cole a jersey, and he wears it almost every Sunday! I think these are a great gift the sports lover will actually wear, and think about you every game day :)

  4. Boots- This is Cole’s gift this year, and I think guys like to look nicer than we think. This is a perfect gift for someone who may not want to splurge on themselves, or just needs a new pair! I’ve linked a Nordstrom pair, but you could also try this website we found.

  5. Yeti Cooler- Minnesota people love coolers, idk. We go to cabins a lot in the summer and this is one of the best brands for anything outdoors! Dad/brother/boyfriend/husband would love and use throughout the year!

    Stocking Stuffers:

  6. Monogram DOF Glass- For the sophisticated drinker- such a cute and personalized gift to give!

  7. Cologne- Again, if you don’t know his scent I would skip this one, unless you know he would absolutely love it!

  8. Wallet/Money Clip- This is a great new trend that guys are loving- a simplistic way to carry your cards/cash!

  9. Apple AirPods- Never even tried these because I hate how these feel in my ears, but I have heard raving reviews about them and see people using them all the time! Ditch those impossible cords to untangle.

  10. Canada Goose Beanie- A little pricey, but I think it could be a nice gift to give if the person wouldn’t buy it for himself. maybe this would be the main gift, and you could get cheaper gloves or something small to pair and elevate your gift!

DISCLAIMER* More important than giving gifts, I hope you enjoy time with loved ones and give meaningful gifts! I know bloggers go crazy with all our gift guides, but these are merely suggestions, and while some are luxury items, others were chosen for more reasonable price points. Also, doing a secret Santa gift with larger families are a great way to ensure everyone gets a present, and no ones breaking the bank! I love picking out gifts, but more so writing and picking out cards for people and I know my dad still has a few saved. God bless you all and your beautiful families this holiday season! Warm wishes xo -Krista

Take a Break

Krista Brumm4 Comments

I took a couple week off from Instagram and blogging to find my passion again. Somewhere along the way I feel like I was just going through the motions of posting and ignoring Instagram altogether. I also came to this crazy realization that if & when Instagram ever gets deleted, then what is my purpose? Some people I think focus on it way too much while forgetting to live a full life outside of the gram. Ask yourself this question, do you like the person you are aside from what you lead people to believe on Instagram? Because I honestly was putting too much effort with the wrong intention. Sure, trying to create a business off a social media platform sounds like a nice idea, but where do you draw the line of staying true to yourself? I am making a promise here to put my whole, true self forward and to be my most authentic self for all of you guys who read this blog and follow along my Instagram. When I started this blog, I always had the intension of staying true to my values and that’s exactly what I intend on doing from here on out (with the deletion of a few posts I didn’t feel represented me or my brand. Going forward I plan on only promoting brands that align with my values, and only things I actually use or would buy myself.

Thanks for reading, and I will be posting more on my website so stay tuned for more posts. Let me know what you think in the comments!
